    Description

    AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY WAR 18th CENTURY ANIMAL HEAD CUTTOE SWORD BRITISH HUNTING SWORD WITH ANIMAL HEAD POMMEL, C. LATE 18TH C., L 22 1/2" OVERALL Etched blade with scrolling floral designs and a running rabbit and fox (or dog). Brass animal head pommel with a hoof-form crossguard and a spiral wood grip. No visible maker's mark. Blade length 17".
    Sword is in good used condition with signs of wear and some corrosion measuring approximately 23” with a 5” inch handle brass hilt and full hammered tang pommel has some slight play less then 3/8 of an inch there is a hair line crack on stag horn handle does not affect grip is tight.Engraved on blade with scroll work at base and hunting seen further up the blade see pics for more details. Sword came from a well know auction house in Detroit Michigan.
