Description
This is a really great Revolutionary War-era folding curved blade knife that would date from around 1760s to 1790s. The handles are made of horn and the overall length when folded is 5.5". The blade is 4.5" long and about 1.25" wide at the widest. It is stamped on the blade "CN" or "CM." Most likely it is "CM" where the last part of the letter M didn't get stamped completely. It has a small hole in the blade where it probably would have hung on a rope. The handle does have some stress crack from age but this is pretty normal. Towards the very thinnest part, you can see a little decorative carving that is the same on both sides. Everything is original and probably made by a blacksmith. Came out of Pennsylvania area.See my eBay for another Revolutionary War knife and tomahawks.
