    BEP souvenir card B 102 FUN 1987 V/C cancel face 1874 Legal Tend Washington
    SCCS # B-102:
    FUN 1987 souvenir card (BEP) depicting the face of a Series 1874 United States Note.  The vignette "Columbus In Sight Of Land" at the left was designed by Joseph P.Ourdan, while the center portrait of George Washington was engraved by Alfred Sealy based on a Gilbert Stuart portrait.
    Cancelled at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing Visitors Center on the first day of issue, January 7, 1987, with a special  "BEP 125th Anniversary" cancellation using the 22⢠Statue of Liberty Centennial stamp.  NOTE that the cancellation INTRUDES into the border of the banknote, but not into any part of the design.
