    FRENCH 1 POUNDER ROSTAING CANNONBALL, GLOUCESTER POINT, YORKTOWN,1781
    This 1 pounder cannonball is for a French 1 pounder cannon called a La Rostaing & was found at the artillery position of the Lauzun’s Legion on Gloucester Point on the north shore of the York River many years ago.
    It is 1 7/8” diameter with light pitting & a brown patia.
    This cannonball was found many years ago before this area was National Park property & was bought by the famous James Anderson who had a very large collection of Virginia artifacts.
    It was bought directly from the Anderson Collection & comes with a certificate of authenticity & an  Anderson Collection letter.
    Artifacts from the Battle of Yorktown are quite rare & are seldom see at antique & militeria shows anymore!
