    Description

HESSIAN 3 POUNDER SOLID SHOT CANNONBALL, BATTLE OF TRENTON,1776
This very rare excavated Hessian 3 pounder solid shot cannonball was found in the back yard of the Donald House on King Street where the Hessian Knyphausen Regiment had set up a pair of 3 pounder cannons that were firing at the Americans.
These cannons were disabled by Captain Alexander Hamilton’s battery & the Hessian cannons were captured by the Americans.
    It is about 2 13/16 diameter" &
has light pitting with a dark brown patina.                     NOTE-use a generic picture as I have several & all are in about the same condition.
It was found in the basement when the house was torn down in 1935 &
is part of the Donald House Collection that has been passed down through the Donald family.
It comes with a Donald family collection letter & a certificate of authenticity.
