    An original printed and manuscript completed land grant to Thomas Smallman for 100 acres of land in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, dated July 7, 1762, and signed by JAMES HAMILTON [1710-1783]. Needs additional research.....James Hamilton was the son of famous early American lawyer Andrew Hamilton, and was himself a prominent lawyer and politician in colonial Pennsylvania. He served as Deputy Governor from 1748 to 1754, and again from 1759 to 1763.
