    A rare and historic original manuscript pay order to David Jeffries [1714-1784], Treasurer of the Town of Boston, requesting payment to Benjamin Summers for the raising of troops to serve three and six months. Dated Boston, July 20, 1780, and signed by COL EDWARD PROCTOR [1733-1811] a prominent merchant, military artillery officer, a participant in the Boston Tea Party and an active patriot, serving on the Committees of Correspondence, and Safety.
